Welcome!
We’re so glad you’re here!
We are practicing stewards of sustainable tourism and hold the health of Clear Lake and surrounding property to our utmost concern. Please help us with both!

Your cabin has a retractable clothes line in the bathroom, please use that for your beach towels and room towels.
We are in a dark sky zone and are conscience of light pollution; please try to turn out your outdoor light when you call it a night.
Please do not use body soap, shampoo or conditioner in Clear Lake. Such products are best used in cabin bathrooms or locker rooms.

Clear Lake Distilling Company closed for the season. Fantastic Torrance made Vodka Sodas in a can available at Clear Lake Brewing Co.
Water/Septic System. Cabin tap water is lake/well water but since we’re not on municipal system we suggest boiling it before you drink it, perfect for coffee/tea. If you wish, and you have a container you can certainly bring it to the brewery for staff to fill, our great beer starts with great water!
We are on a septic system. Do not flush anything other than a limited amount of toilet paper down the toilet.
Fireplaces in the upper cabins are your source of heat. Do not turn them off. Especially don’t turn them off and open a window when it’s -30. That doesn’t end well. The remote for the fireplace is the thermostat, keep the remote in the middle of the room. Don’t leave it on the mantle.
Lower cabins have baseboard heaters with individual thermostats on each.
Keeping your cabin cool in a heat wave. Open your windows at night (after 7ish) and close them in the morning around 10am. Don’t leave windows open all day, it just lets the heat in and you can’t get it out.
Noise. Please be respectful of all neighbours. Quiet times from 11pm to 8am daily. During quiet times, no noise should be audible from one cottage to another. At all times, musical devices need to be kept at a volume that they are not disturbing other guests. Be aware that sound does carry across bodies of water.
The Beach and Lakefront is a detox/quiet zone. There is to be no amplified music nor boisterous behaviour. There is a sauna and cold plunge at the beach open to guests during day light hours.
Boating / Activities. There is no public boat launch at BeerSpa. There is a public boat launch to Lake Muskoka two minutes down Torrance Rd. Resort Canoes, Kayaks and SUPs are provided with your stay. We suggest using your own life jackets. If needed, we do have some in the cubby. Guests can fish off the dock, but remember you need a license to fish in Ontario. A one-day license can be purchased online at www.ontario.ca. and we support a catch and release program. Please follow boating and swimming safety at all times. There is not a lifeguard on duty.
Pool, Hot Tubs, and Steam Room. Closed until May 1st
Campfires. You will find a shared fire cage at the upper cottages as well as the lower cabins. These are for you to host, set, light and stoke your own fire. The main fire pit is in the courtyard with the summer cabins. There are self-serve wood stacks near each. You should find wax starter cups and a lighter on top of your fridge.

So you know…
TORRANCE BARRENS
In 1999, Torrance Barrens Conservation Area was designated as the world’s first permanent Dark Sky Reserve. The 4,700-acres of Crown land is bedrock and wetlands, with trees and bushes that are stunted in height. For star-gazers this means a spectacular 360 degree view of the night sky, unhampered by light pollution. Even an amateur’s telescope can see the rings of Saturn. Late in the summer and in the early fall it’s possible the northern lights (aurora borealis) could put in an appearance.
The Barren’s also doubles as an exceptional hiking and mountain biking destination, with 3 well marked trails for public use.
Encompassing 1,990 hectares (5,000 acres), the Torrance Barrens Conservation Reserve is one of the most striking geological areas in Muskoka. The lunar landscape of the Torrance Barrens is characterized by low ridges of Precambrian bedrock, separated by wetland and peat-filled hollows. The barren landscape contains scattered boulders and little soil. The prevalence of bare bedrock is a direct result of wave washing of glacial lakes Algonquin and Nipissing. The nationally rare Eastern Bluebird, and Cooper’s Hawk can be spotted from the Barrens, along with diverse vegetative species. Ontario’s only lizard, the five-lined skink can also be spotted here.
And 5 minutes towards Gravenhurst on Muskoka Rd 169
Hardy Lake Provincial Park & Trail Loop
Hardy Lake has 3 different, moderate level trail loops. Parking is available however there are no visitor facilities. The park provides hiking trails maintained by the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
What You'll Like :The park has a rich community of Atlantic coastal plain species. These species are here because at one time, much of present day Ontario was submerged beneath numerous glacial and post-glacial lakes. When the ancient Lake Algonquin receded, it left a remnant community of Atlantic Ocean shoreline plants behind. The park also contains an inland section of displaced Georgian Bay shoreline.
When visiting any of local attractions, please; take photos and leave only footprints. If you’re feeling ‘extra earthy’ when going on a hike, if you ask the brewery team for a garbage bag to pick up any litter on the trails, they will likely reward you for any detritus you pick up while you’re out. Always grateful for any help keeping our neck of Muskoka Beautiful.
