Progress needs to involve a balance of human, financial, social, environmental and intellectual relationships. This includes environmental stewardship, social responsibility, corporate citizenship and economic growth.
We aim to provide work environments, products, services and solutions that make productive and efficient use of resources.
We believe this commitment supports success for our staff, customers, community and stakeholders and the societies to which we belong.

In 2022 Muskoka BeerSpa, Clear Lake Brewing Co and The Cottage Distillery went through a comprehensive assessment to achieve Silver certification in Sustainable Tourism.
The process included a one-on-one review of our business practices with a GreenStep Assessor to see how we rated against the Global Sustainable Tourism Council recognized criteria.

Following the assessment, we received a report that recognized our Silver accreditation , and also highlights areas where we have opportunities for improvement, in turn helping us to form an action plan for continued success on our sustainability journey. We will be reassessed every two years to maintain our certification and our momentum

During this time we have also brought on a local Ontario sustainability team, Aevi, to help us activate plans and protocols pertinent to our specific location and businesses.

We are grateful for not one, but two teams of sustainability experts to guide us to our goal of being the best we can be.

Environmental Responsibility

We support environmental stewardship by embracing business processes that enable waste prevention, promote recycling, improve quality, promote the efficient use of resources in operations and responsible waste disposal.

EcoFund

We are an EcoFund Verified business. As part of this, we collect these EcoFees to
support large carbon reduction projects that help us reduce our carbon footprint.
An organization called GreenStep holds us accountable and verifies that the
EcoFees are invested in projects that will help us cut down on carbon emissions,
through a range of energy, fuel, waste, and water conservation projects.
